Carrie bercerita tentang Carrie White, seorang gadis SMA yang memiliki kekuatan telekinesis. Dibesarkan di sebuah keluarga yang menganut ajaran agama yang fanatik, Carrie tumbuh menjadi seorang gadis yang dikucilkan dari lingkungan dan tidak tahu cara bergaul. Hal ini diperparah oleh sang ibu yang senang menyiksanya dan tidak mempersiapkan Carrie untuk tumbuh seperti gadis pada umumnya.
