Menyanyikan Puisi ala AriReda

Sebenarnya saya tidak sengaja tahu tentang AriReda lewat artikel "AriReda: "Di Indonesia Notabene Musik Nggak Bisa Bikin Hidup"" oleh "Rolling Stone Indonesia". Dari artikel itu, saya jadi teringat pada musikalisasi puisi "Hujan Bulan Juni" dan "Aku Ingin" Sapardi Djoko Damono yang saya dengar beberapa tahun yang lalu. Setelah mengecek beberapa video AriReda di Youtube, saya langsung merasa klop dan memesan album mereka lewat demajors.com, perusahaan rekaman yang menaungi album "AriReda: Menyanyikan Puisi".
Hasilnya? Saya puas banget.

Ini nih single barunya Anggun. Judulnya "Only Love" ada versi Indonesianya juga sih, judulnya "Hanya Cinta". Single ini dari album terbarunya yang berjudul "Echoes". Untuk albumnya sendiri saya belum dengar (belum sempat ke toko CD sih =_="), tapi kalau dari singlenya tunes-nya terasa beda sekali dengan album sebelumnya "Elevation". Di mana "Elevation" lebih terasa hiphop dan R&B, di single ini terasa lebih "klasik" dengan sitar menjadi alat petik pengiring. Mendengar musik pengiringnya, saya rasa Anggun berniat untuk kembali ke dasarnya, pop folk.
Catatan pribadi: Musiknya romantis...Mendengarnya saya membayangkan duduk di atas gondola dengan kekasih, berpegangan tangan sambil menatap jauh ke dalam mata masing-masing, dan ada seorang pria berkumis mendayung gondola di belakang saya.

Video Baru Agnes Monica "Paralyzed"

Agnes Monica barusan meluncurkan video single barunya yang berjudul "Paralyzed". Sebenarnya lagu ini sendiri tidak bisa dibilang lagu "baru" sebab sudah lama lalu lalang di TV sebagai soundtrack film "Pejantan Cantik".
Satu kata, salut! Saya suka lihat kalau Agnes bikin video klip soalnya selalu all out. Di sini konsepnya (menurut saya) gabungan Jepang ,Amerika, dan sedikit Indonesia. Kalau dilihat dari kostumnya menurut saya lebih ke arah fashion Jepang, tetapi ngedancenya saya rasa lebih ke arah Amerika. Sedangkan untuk Indonesia tampak sedikit pas Agnes Jaipongan di tangga. Melihat video ini, saya merasa ada unsur Rihanna, Beyonce, Ayumi Hamasaki, dan Koda Kumi di dalamnya serta sentuhan Agnes Monica sendiri tentunya.

Speak Now - Giliran Taylor Swift Bicara

Taylor Swift kembali meluncurkan album barunya. Setelah 2 tahun berlalu sejak album keduanya, "Fearless" dirilis, penyanyi berusia 20 tahun ini merilis album ketiganya, "Speak Now" pada 25 Oktober yang lalu.
Album ini adalah ujian musikalitas bagi Swift, sebab seluruh lagu dalam album ini ditulis olehnya sendiri, sehingga otomatis seluruh kritik atas lagu-lagu yang ada akan jatuh pada dirinya.
Musik Swift di album ini lebih berat daripada album sebelumnya. Secara lirik juga lebih banyak menceritakan tentang patah hati dan perpisahan. Musik di album ketiga Swift ini lebih banyak berfokus pada pop country, pop/punk (seperti musik Avril Lavigne), serta orkestra.
Swift yang akan menginjak usia 21 pada Desember ini menunjukkan perkembangan yang signifikan di album ini. Lagu-lagu yang ada dalam "Speak Now" boleh dikata sebagai catatan pribadi Swift akan apa saja yang terjadi pada dirinya selama 2 tahun terakhir.
Lihat saja lagu berjudul "Innocent" yang terinspirasi oleh ulah Kanye West yang merebut momennya pada malam penganugrahan VMA tahun lalu. Ada pula lagu "Better Than Revenge" yang memiliki suasana pop/punk yang kental. Lagu ini tampaknya terinspirasi oleh artis Camila Belle yang dipercayai sebagai orang ketiga dalam hubungan cintanya dengan Joe Jonas.
Selain itu ada pula lagu "Dear John" yang dicurigai sebagai lagu yang menggambarkan hubungannya dengan penyanyi yang terkenal memiliki reputasi buruk di kalangan wanita, John Mayer. Sementara itu, "Mean" tampaknya bercerita tentang hubungan buruk Taylor dengan para kritikus musik yang sering mengkritik kemampuan Taylor bernyanyi secara Live (khususnya pada malam penganugrahan Grammy ketika dia bernyanyi sangat buruk ketika berkolaborasi dengan Stevie Nicks)
Secara keseluruhan, "Speak Now" sukses membungkam orang-orang yang mempertanyakan kemampuan Swift dalam menulis lagu. Satu-satunya masalah dengan album ini adalah durasi lagunya yang terlalu panjang. Sementara lagu-lagu yang radio friendly rata-rata hanya berdurasi 3-4 menit, kebanyakan lagu dalam album ini melewati batas tersebut.
Lagu yang sebaiknya didengar: Back to December, Speak Now, Mean, Dear John, Last Kiss, Long Live.

Sudah dengar lagu Speak Now nya Taylor Swift? Single terbaru dari "Country Princess" ini bercerita tentang sebuah pernikahan yang "digagalkan" oleh Taylor karena dia mencintai si cowok dan berharap si cowok tidak menikahi gadis yang salah. Karena itulah Taylor berdiri dan menyatakan alasannya ketika muncul pernyataan "Speak now or forever hold your peace" (bicaralah sekarang atau diam selamanya, kalimat yang biasanya dilontarkan pada pernikahan untuk menanyakan kalau ada yang keberatan dengan pernikahan ini)

Minggu ini saya dapat banyak referensi lagu yang bagus-bagus. Sampai bingung dengarnya ^o^.
Jadilah akhirnya saya memutuskan untuk menulis tentang FSOTW ini untuk memberikan referensi musik bagus untukteman-teman sekalian (padahal aslinya sih iseng doang. hohohohoho....). Dan 3 besar minggu ini adalah...eng ing eng:

Taylor Swift Siap Luncurkan Album Baru Otober Nanti

Penyanyi dan penulis lagu Country muda berbakat, Taylor Swift, bersiap untuk merilis album terbarunya yang diberi judul "Speak Now" bulan Oktober nanti. Pemilik 4 penghargaan Grammy ini menulis sendiri seluruh lagu di album ini tanpa bantuan seorang co-writer. Mengenai hal ini, Swift berkata"I actually wrote all the songs myself for this record. It didn't really happen on purpose. It just sort of happened...to happen that way. Like, I'd get my best ideas at 3:00 AM in Arkansas, and I didn't have a co-writer around and I would just finish it."

Single perdana dari album ini telah diluncurkan. Lagu berjudul "Mine" ini awalnya akan dirilis pada 16 Agustus, tetapi peluncurannya dipercepat karena lagu ini telah bocor di internet.
"Mine" melakukan debut pada peringkat 3 Billboard Hot 100 dan peringkat 1 pada lagu digital dengan download sebesar 297.000 kali.
Mengenai lagunya sendiri, iramanya tipikal Taylor Swift dengan pop country-nya. Satu hal yang saya suka dari lagu ini adalah liriknya yang menceritakan cinta yang bertahan dari cobaan dan tidak menggunakan masalah sebagai alasan untuk berpisah. Nice lyric Taylor!

Gue suka pas bagian barang-barang di rumah pasangan dalam cerita itu mulai menghilang, menunjukkan perasaan si cowok yang baru sadar akan pentingnya si cewek bagi dirinya.

Siapa sangka kalau Madonna ternyata adalah artis paling populer di Inggris dalam satu dekade terakhir. Data yang dikumpulkan oleh People's Artist Chart menunjukkan kalau dalam rentang waktu sepuluh tahun itu, lagu Madonna yang paling banyak diperdengarkan di Inggris, melampaui nama-nama legendaris seperti The Beatles, misalnya.
Menurut berita yang dilansir Splash News, People's Artist Chart ini disusun berdasarkan survei yang mereka lakukan di Inggris. Data yang diambil adalah semua bentuk 'penayangan' termasuk radio, televisi, sampai penayangan langsung di depan publik oleh musisi lain yang mengambil lisensi lagu Madonna.
Hasilnya memang cukup mengejutkan mengingat ada banyak nama-nama besar yang ternyata mampu digeser oleh Madonna. The Beatles hanya mampu mengejar di urutan kedua sementara Queen, Elton John, dan Coldplay juga tak mampu berbuat banyak untuk menggeser Madonna dari puncak tangga.
