As the title suggests, Draft 1: Tactics for Writing Your First Fiction, is a book about how to write your first fiction. The book covers usual things covered by similiar books, like: elements in novel (characters, plot, settings, etc), writing process, even about books publication.

A little bit about the author. Winna Efendi is one of the top author in Indonesia right now. She has published 6 novels, 1 anthology, and Draft 1 is her first non-fiction. One of her novels, Refrain, is up and coming at the cinema.

Considering that Winna is at her A-game right now, this book raises interest among aspiring writers and people who want to learn how to be better at writing. Well, I'm one of those people.

While I have read most of the topics covered, Winna gives a lot of examples in this book which gives me a better understanding about the topic she covers. She also gives writing exercise along the way to stimulate the readers' writing self.

While she gives encouragement, she also underlines the facts that writing is difficult and it needs a lot of commitments. Which is the bitter truth of writing.

Great book by Winna Efendi.
