    Pada April 2003, BBC Inggris mengadakan sebuah polling untuk menemukan "best-loved novel of all time" di negara itu. Setelah pemungutan suara selama setahun, dengan total sekitar 750 ribu suara yang masuk, akhirnya BBC berhasil menemukan 200 novel dengan suara terbanyak. Untuk daftar kali ini, saya akan menampilkan peringkat 1-100 saja.

    Sedikt trivia dari daftar di atas:

    1. J. K. Rowling memiliki buku terbanyak di peringkat 1-50. Keempat buku pertama dari serial Harry Potter berada di 50 besar. "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" berada di peringkat tertinggi, peringkat 4.
    2. Charles Dickens dan Terry Pratchett memiliki jumlah buku terbanyak di 100 besar. Masing-masing dengan 5 buku. "Great Expectations" menjadi peringkat tertinggi bagi Dickens (peringkat 17), sementara "Mort", di peringkat 65, menjadi buku dengan peringkat tertinggi bagi Pratchett.
    3. Terry Pratchett memegang rekor jumlah buku terbanyak di Top 200 dengan 15 buku.
    4. Jacqueline Wilson, penulis buku anak-anak, menjadi runner up untuk jumlah buku terbanyak di Top 200 dengan 14 buku.

    Berhubung ini polling dari 2003, jadi ada banyak buku populer baru yang tidak masuk di daftar. Andaikan polling-nya dibuat sekarang, mungkin trilogi The Hunger Games bisa masuk, kali ya. Mungkinkah 50 Shades of Grey juga akan muncul di top 100?

    Dari 100 buku di atas, ternyata baru 21 buku yang kubaca (ditandai dengan '[X]'). Ada beberapa novel yang sudah masuk di daftar to-read, seperti: 1984, On the Road, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, dan Anna Karenina.

    Serial Harry Potter, Winnie the Pooh, dan To Kill a Mockingbird menjadi top 3 favorit saya dari daftar yang sudah kubaca. 



    Perfume mungkin jadi least favorite, berhubung saya tidak kuat baca sampai selesai *malu. Mungkin nanti mau coba baca versi bahasa Inggrisnya, mumpung pernah lihat buku itu di perpustakaan.
